Opening Night Film WIND RIVER and Reception
Last year, we brought you "Hell or High Water" (along with special guest Gil Birmingham). This year, we're pleased to open this year's festival with the final installment of filmmaker Taylor Sheridan's Frontier trilogy, WIND RIVER. It's a chilling thriller that follows a rookie FBI agent (Elizabeth Olsen) who teams up with a local game tracker with deep community ties and a haunted past (Jeremy Renner) to investigate the murder of a local girl on a remote Native American Reservation in the hopes of solving her mysterious death.
BONUS: Actor Tokala Clifford will be in attendance! He will be answering questions and participating in a discussion with our friends at the Eiteljorg Museum of the film's Native American themes immediately following the film before our Opening Night Reception.
