One Day in April

'One Day in April' follows four teams of college cyclists as they prepare for the Indiana University Little 500, a grueling bicycle race held each year in Bloomington, Ind. 'One Day in April' tells the story behind the race – how the riders spend months and sometimes years preparing themselves mentally and physically for one race and one shot at glory. The Cutters are the most successful team in the history of the Little 500, and we pick up their story just a few months after failing to win for the first time in years. The Cutters won five races in a row - but a crushing loss in the 2012 race is a huge test of character. Will the Cutters return to dominance? They were beaten out last year by Delta Tau Delta, a fraternity team that makes few friends on the track. The Delts are confident defending champions, but there are questions about their team chemistry and depth. In the women's field, Delta Gamma has a strong returning squad with one of the best sprinters in the field. But damaged knee ligaments and an inexperienced rookie threaten to derail their bid to retain the Borg-Warner Trophy.Powerhouse Teter Cycling would love to stop Delta Gamma from nabbing a two-peat, and Teter looks like the strongest women's team on paper. But anything can happen on race day.It all comes down to a few decisive moments. Who is prepared, and who will get left in the dust?
