Dirty Beautiful

David is a young, struggling writer very alone in the world. Kat is a lost soul recently left homeless by her ex. Both survive on the fringe of life. So when Kat storms into David’s life and throws out the crazy idea that they become instant girlfriend/boyfriend, David impulsively agrees and moves her into his tiny apartment. Kat turns out to be a raw force of nature who immediately messes with David’s OCD order. And she drinks, a lot. After a neighbor brings her home passed out from a party she sneaked off to, David lays down an odd new rule. Kat’s grounded. He’s not forcing her to stay, but as long as she does, Kat’s not allowed to leave the apartment unescorted. Cabin fever sets in as the two wait to see who will drive the other crazy first. But slowly David embraces Kat with incredible sweetness. And she brings an energy and feeling of home to his life. After some wild ups and downs, they make their former prison into a cave. A safe haven away from the world. But their retreat is fueled as much by drinking and escape as affection. When fantasies of children and a, normal, life compete with their bohemian ways, things begin to turn ugly. Forced to face their illusions in dramatic fashion, the pair’s sanctuary implodes. Out of their cave reality, in the sober light of day, can David & Kat’s love survive?
