But by the year 2000, the Professional Bowling Association was on the brink of going under and bowling was the brunt of many sports jokes. Enter Pete Weber, the self-declared Bad Boy of Bowling and the first rock star of the sport. He was a man on a mission to save the face of the sport he’d loved and played his entire life. Many fans had high hopes that he could single-handily save bowling and somehow turn the PBA around. What happened?
